On Wednesday 27 September, the Band took delivery of the majority of the new set of instruments. This was a night of euphoria as the Band had never seen so may new instruments all at the same time. Thanks must go to Normans Musical Instruments in Huddersfield for their prompt attention to our requirements.

On Wednesday 18 October Normans delivered two new pedal timpani (25" and 28"). After having had "kettle" timpani for over 20 years, the tone was much improved.
There was a brief "problem" perceived that we could not get the 28" timpani in to the store room. The 28" only just fitted through the storeroom door in a certain position.
On Wednesday 08 November the Schilke Soprano Cornet was delivered along with the cymbals.

The first concert with the full set of new instruments was fittingly our annual Christmas Concert surrounded by many friends and supporters of the Band.
The concert was staged as usual with the Penistone Ladies' Choir.

21 February 2002. This is the first Annual Report we have had to do to summarise our income and expenditure over the last year along with the benefits of having a new set of instruments.
One of the rules in obtaining the grant stated we will have to do an Annual Report for a period 5 years.
