Best ‘banding’ moment:
1.  Surviving playing timps in Goff Richards’ “Oceans” test piece at Pontin’s, Prestatyn, 26 Oct 2003.
2.  Playing the snare drum roll to start the National Anthem on Ray Payne’s golden drum to start the Area Contest in Bradford in 2004 or 2005.
3.  Playing at the National Finals in Harrogate, 23 Sep 2006.
4.  Playing Frances (nee Beatty) Gill’s “Ramdala” for Meltham and Aklowa African Drums.
5.  Singing with the Choral behind my son, Jonathan playing trombone with the National Sinfonia, in Mozart’s Requiem, conducted by Dr. Jane Glover.  

Favourite piece(s) of band music:
“That” bit in “Music”, “Georgia”, “Glasnost”, “Gladiator” and loads more.

Favourite food(s):
Pork with apple sauce.

Hobbies (when not at band):
Grandchildren; building, mainly walls (love bitumen-backed aluminium); gardening; caravanning; family history
